Easter!!

Well Happy Easter for last weekend and here's looking forward to a lovely day on Friday and the Bank Holiday weekend.

CMJ and CMM and I spent the holiday weekend together, we had such a lovely time - obviously there was a Major event on Saturday - Dr Who returned!! It's shaping up to be a really good storyline and we will finally discover who RiverSong is. We spent time in the garden as the weather was so fabulous and then we all decamped to my house for Sunday and Monday. CMJ - who is so lovely - did my wildlife park and it now looks almost like a garden. She was full of aches and pains but still she carried on on Monday!

My friend in Ireland is having visitors from here this week - they arrive today so I hope she will love seeing them and the weather stays fine.

CMM is my absolute darling, although not so her mother's! She is, after all, 13 years old.

I did a bit of spring cleaning and have a wardrobe arriving tomorrow. Pine 3 doors, so plenty of space.

Still waiting for my follower, Willie, to update his blog. His friend was unwell so I hope she is on the mend and feeling well and that it wasn't anything serious.

I must rush. So much to do, so little time!

Aaaaaaaaaaaah. The weekend looms!

This beautiful lady is my mum. Sadly she has alzheimer's but as you can see she is happy in the lovely residential home she lives in. I haven't seen her for a while, last year in fact, so I hope to visit her in the summer. She lives in Scotland which makes it hard to see her often.

This weekend is a long one for me. I am off on Friday pm and all day on Monday. CMM and CMJ are off to London so they'll be with me on Friday night so they can walk to the coach (not far from me) on Saturday morning and then they'll stay on Sunday night when they get back. I have the pampered pom for the weekend. I am looking forward to it. The BAFTAs are on this weekend and I always watch that and in just two weeks OSCAR!

Might go into town on Monday for a mooch. Haven't done that for ages.

Have to go - want to make flapjacks.

Friday!

I do love Fridays and in particular those Fridays when I am only at work in the morning. CMM came to stay last night but is feeling awful, she is blocked up and has earache and a headache. We had a lovely evening but when I left for work she stayed tucked up in bed! Luckily, as I said, I had the afternoon off, so CMM was not alone for long. We watched a movie, played on the Wii and then she chose Macaroni Cheese for dinner. CMJ and I tried to persuade her that this was not the best choice when your current enemy is being mass produced by the mucous membrane but nothing would do but Mac and Cheese. She ate the lovingly prepared food and then went to bed. She is still there, soundo. Poor baby had a lousy night last night, ears were really sore.

My cushion covers have arrived - they match my curtains, my favourite household item (apart from the dishwasher). I haven't been able to find the right cushion covers to go with them and Lo, in the Debenhams sale they were there, from the same range. I didn't even know the range included cushion covers. Luckily and providentially, they were half price, still very expensive but fabulous.

Tomorrow CMM is off to her Dad's for the weekend, so CMJ is picking her up early in the morning. Hope she feels better so she can enjoy her weekend.

So I don't know what I'm doing, nothing planned so maybe just chilling, depends on the weather. I have booked 28 Feb off work, Oscars on in the early hours! but I am disappointed to be along this year. No dressing up etc this year. Will still love it and have a couple of fizzy bottles cooling already.

Loving the new channel on sky. I have not seen any of The Sopranos so am looking forward to that, also Boarwalk Empire and Madmen look great.

Off then, for now. Take care.

Small world!

I have a new cyberspace friend. Willie is following my blog and it's exciting to have a follower - but boy! what a small world. On Willie's blog he tells us that he started out as a Bluecoat at Pontins in Weymouth! Guess where I live? Yep - the very place! Willie loves the Godfather, cooking, family - all the things I love so I'm thrilled to bits to hear from him.

Good day at work - I know it seems impossible but it's true. I am posting a picture of myself, it may be that I'm looking just a little bit holier than I actually am.
Well not in this one, this is me and CMJ at Butlins. Ah cocktails!!

Off to watch the Gypsy weddings, they are amazing!!

I am soooo proud

What a fantastic weekend, totally chilled and on Saturday night I went to see CMM in her drama club pantomime. It was Aladdin and she was Wishee Washee part of the comedy duo with the dame but the romantic duo with So-Shi. I hesitate to say this but Wow. The whole thing was just fabulous and CMM was brilliant, she had worked so hard and her comic timing was just fabulous.

CMJ has had more studying to do and is working hard, even in those times when we find it really hard to buckle down it is hard work! I think she'll be fine though because she's pretty smart and she wants to do it for herself, so she will manage to be brilliant.

Back to work today, I don't relish Mondays but it wasn't too bad, I feel pretty tired tonight and I keep dropping things which is really starting to bug me. Anyway, having trouble uploading photos, don't know why - so am going to give it another go.

I can't believe how quickly time goes by.

I looked at my blog today and discovered it's 9 months since I looked and I have 2 messages!! From the same person but if you are still checking in I am so glad to hear from you. I am going to try to leave you a message.
My lovely girls are doing very well, CMJ is now a teaching assistant and CMM is turning out to be a genius - well, a very bright girl. We are very proud of her, she is lucky though, loves to work. How cool is that for a 13 year old.
CMM is off to France on a student exchange and the daughter of the family she stays with will come and stay with them. It's such a lovely idea, we always had students when I was young and it helped with language studies a lot.
Yesterday was Robert Burns' birthday so the girls were here for haggis, mashed potatoes and swede. We like to keep it up, my parents always celebrated so it keeps the family traditions alive.
We had a lot of snow this winter (for the south coast anyway!) and it was surprisingly cold, but Christmas was lovely again and so was New Year. We had hoped to stay with a friend of CMJ who spent lots of time at my house when they were growing up, just like one of the family. Anyway, she's moved to the Lake District and we were planning to go but the weather was too inclement so we stayed home and just celebrated here. It was just lovely - a really nice start to the year.
Once again I will try to do this weekly at least, I want to but have been very bad at it so far!!

Birthdays and all that jazz

Well, last week was my birthday and this weekend was mother's day. What a fab time I have had.I spent Saturday with CMM and CMJ and we had a lovely time, we played Singstar on the playstation and chilled and then Sunday being Mothering Sunday we pottered about, it was a lovely day and we just enjoyed it.

Stark reality of work today. No pics with this post because I am on my lunch break and we can't access much on these terminals. My sister and her husband MW and KW are coming home from Portugal for the summer this month so that will be lovely, they can come and stay with me. The weather wasn't so good out there this winter, warm but not sunny, so I think it's easy to come back.
